I pondered all day that this day I turn 59 years old.\u00a0 That’s a big number!\u00a0 I know some people say “your only getting started” , and other words of inspiration.\u00a0 Even now as I’m typing I’m have trouble thinking how do I explain how I feel.\u00a0 I think I could use words like, scared, happy, relieved, proud, insecure.\u00a0 Not the most solid feelings, you see?<\/p>\n

I was in the gym today pushing weights around, seeing my reflection of a semi overweight dude that looks kind of in shape but not quite there.\u00a0 \u00a0I thought, thats the story of my life so far.\u00a0 I have never really pushed hard enough.\u00a0 No.. wait.\u00a0 Really I have never APPLIED\u00a0 myself 100% on anything in my life.\u00a0 I kind of half ass it all.\u00a0 If I’m lucky maybe I accomplished 75% of a goal.<\/p>\n

Now if I were to follow the above paragraph with, things will be different now.\u00a0 I’m going to change myself and do this, or do that.\u00a0 Bullshit Michael.\u00a0 Talk is cheap and you have been light on value on everything you promised yourself.<\/p>\n

So now what?<\/p>\n

I can list the things I claim I will do.<\/p>\n

  1. Improve my relationship with Jesus\/God<\/li>\n
  2. My Wife.\u00a0 Its great now but it can always be better.<\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0Lose Weight.<\/li>\n
  4. Gain muscle.<\/li>\n
  5. Be still.<\/li>\n
  6. Pay attention.<\/li>\n
  7. Volunteer<\/li>\n
  8. Shut up<\/li>\n
  9. Connect better with my family\n
      \n
    1. My Mother<\/li>\n
    2. My Father<\/li>\n
    3. My daughter<\/li>\n
    4. My Son<\/li>\n
    5. My Cousins<\/li>\n
    6. My recently discovered half Sister\n
        \n
      1. My niece<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      2. My two half brothers.<\/li>\n
      3. My Uncles<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      4. Connect better with my REAL friends\n
          \n
        1. Army buddies<\/li>\n
        2. Coast Guard buddies.<\/li>\n
        3. 2 local buddies.\u00a0 (and that’s a stretch)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          One thing I have learned along my 59 year adventure.\u00a0 Don’t call just anyone a friend.\u00a0 That word is not to be used lightly.\u00a0 I can tell you I have only one true friend that was closer to me than my own siblings.\u00a0 He’s not able to communicate anymore as he is ruined from a motorcycle accident.<\/p>\n

          I’m developing some promising new valuable relationships today, I’m happy to say.\u00a0 They know who they are.<\/p>\n

          Now this thought to paper so far is a little flat if not down right depressing.\u00a0 But its keeping it real.\u00a0 This is the way I really feel.<\/p>\n

          I want to be a better person.\u00a0 I want to be in the moment.\u00a0 I want to be present.<\/p>\n

          Okay, for what its worth.\u00a0 Whoop there it is.\u00a0 I’m proud that I can put this out there for you to read.<\/p>\n

          I love you all.<\/p>\n

          Show me your love.<\/p>\n
