{"id":209,"date":"2009-06-10T12:47:44","date_gmt":"2009-06-10T09:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelagee.com\/blog\/?p=209"},"modified":"2024-05-03T19:44:24","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T23:44:24","slug":"and-they-will-not-die-in-vain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelagee.com\/blog\/and-they-will-not-die-in-vain\/","title":{"rendered":"And they will not die in vain&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/michaelagee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/remember.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-210\" title=\"Remember\" src=\"http:\/\/michaelagee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/remember.bmp\" alt=\"Remember\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I cant tell you how many times I have heard this statement &#8220;they will not die in vain&#8221;, especially on important dates such as memorial day.\u00a0 Recently we celebrated memorial day and I hope that we as a country are really taking pause to think about what this date really means.\u00a0 Personally, amongst all the other days that we find ourselves not having to go to work and sleep in, this is the most important day of all of them.<\/p>\n<p>I will be honest and say that for a long time I did not REALLY give this day enough thought, as much as it deserves anyways.\u00a0 As a kid it was a &#8220;non school&#8221; day.\u00a0 Then as I got older it became a &#8220;non work&#8221; day.\u00a0 And for that I&#8217;m ashamed.\u00a0 I dont know why it took so long before it really sunk in on what memorial day is all about.<\/p>\n<p>Its about young men and woman with a lifetime of goals anddreams in front of them cut short by enemy fire because they put themselves in a dangerous position to defend our country.\u00a0 To carry out our presidents orders whether they agreed with it or not.\u00a0 And for the most part they dont complain because out of respect for their leaders.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m worried.\u00a0 I&#8217;m worried that this country is losing some of the old school God and Country beliefs.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hearing too much whining to have more of this, and less of that.\u00a0 Gay rights, same sex marriage, less taxes,\u00a0 leaglize marjuana, rights for illegal immigrant, brutal murders, insane nutbags going on killing spree&#8217;s, anything to do with G.\u00a0O.
